Dredging Port Solent Approaches
QUEENS HARBOUR MASTER PORTSMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No 8/10
Maintenance NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that routine maintenance dredging will commence within the Port Solent Approaches from the 15 March 2010 and is expected to last for approximately four to six weeks which will be weather dependant.
The vessel conducting this task will be the “Witton II” (Backhoe Dredger) which will display the appropriate signals from the COLREGS when conducting her operations. Twice a day spoil from Witton II will be loaded into one of two self propelled barges “Split Two or Split Three” for disposal to the NAB Spoil Ground....
